What has shipped in Fieldplate, newest first.

Insurance claims, referrals, supplier prices and the assistant

  • Track an insurance claim on the job: RCV, ACV, depreciation, the deductible and supplements, with an invoice made straight from the claim.
  • A Claims report shows every open claim, how long it has been with the carrier, and the money still to come, including held-back depreciation.
  • A referral program: every customer gets a referral code, friends sign up on a public form, and you track each reward from earned to handed over.
  • Import a supplier’s price list, review the cost changes before they reach your prices, and keep your margin when costs move.
  • Each company can text from its own number, set up in Settings.
  • Send “Crew is on the way” with an arrival time, and photo updates, to the homeowner from the job or the crew’s phone.
  • The job page is now the complete record: everything on the job in one strip, a timeline of every event, and a History of every change.
  • The customer page adds up every job, with one timeline across all of them.
  • Star the pages, records and saved views you use most to keep them at the top of your sidebar.
  • The Fieldplate assistant finds and changes things for you in plain words, and shows each change before it makes it.
  • New photos get suggested tags for the phase and any damage, with Apply or Dismiss, and photo reports can group by phase.
  • Mark a photo private so the homeowner never sees it.

A simpler layout, checked for every role

  • A shorter sidebar with section tabs, one Settings page for everything, and a Home page that leads with today.
  • Plainer words across the app, and every screen checked against the WCAG AA accessibility standard.
  • Every page was checked as every role, from owner to crew, so each person sees what their work needs.
  • A setting that lets sales reps see what their customers still owe.

Estimate templates and Good, Better, Best

  • Estimate templates with lines that work out their own quantities from the roof measurements.
  • Build Good, Better and Best options from templates, with a side-by-side of what is different.
  • Design your company’s proposal layout; each proposal keeps the layout it was sent with.
  • A materials checklist on the work order, loaded and on site.
  • Supply-house reps get their own Supplier login to see the orders you send them.
  • Timesheets show an open shift plainly, and starter templates now reach every account.

Automations, documents, inspections and video guides

  • Automations: a gallery of ready-made rules, a rule editor, and message templates with merge fields.
  • Automations can start from an appointment, such as a reminder the day before.
  • Document templates with e-sign: contingency agreements, insurance authorizations, completion certificates and warranties.
  • Inspection forms with checklists, photos and signatures, saved as a PDF, starting from a roof inspection template.
  • Nine short tutorial videos in the help centre, from setting up to reports.
  • A calendar feed for your phone’s calendar, progress on the jobs board, note and task types, and sales commissions.
  • Dates everywhere follow your company’s time zone.

Material orders and work orders

  • Choose for each material line whether it comes from your warehouse or a vendor, and print the material order.
  • A printable work order, and a work order card on the crew’s Today page.

Job export, and counting site visits

  • Export a job as one ZIP file: every estimate version as a PDF with the signed one marked, change orders, invoices and receipts, the original photo files named by the time they were taken, time entries, and a timeline you can open in any browser.
  • Photos keep the time they were taken, from the phone or the photo’s own data, and a photo uploaded later is marked as uploaded later.
  • Export your whole company’s data from Settings: every job’s packet plus your contacts, products, inventory and users as CSV files.
  • The public site now counts page views on our own server. No cookies, no IP addresses, and no third party involved.

New look, demo data, and a pass over phones and first sign-in

  • Fieldplate has its own mark and colors, in the app, on PDFs, in emails and on this site.
  • Load a sample roofing company’s jobs, photos, estimates, invoices, time and inventory from Settings to try things out, and remove all of it with one click.
  • On phones: bigger tap targets, lists as cards, and the estimate’s Send button first. A new account starts on a setup checklist.

Password reset, sign-in links, this site, and the phone layout

  • Forgot your password? Reset it by email. Or sign in with a link sent to your inbox instead of a password.
  • A public site for Fieldplate at fieldplate.org: what it does, pricing, the privacy policy and the terms.
  • On a phone, Fieldplate has a bottom tab bar, a Today page for crews with a job picker, camera capture straight onto a job, and can be added to the home screen.

Guided tour and help

  • A short tour the first time you sign in, tips on the screens you have not used yet, and a help panel and help centre you can open from any page.
